Article Abstract:
A decision is to be taken by the end of September 1998 about Croatia's second mobile phone licence that will compete against the NMT-450 and GSM-900 networks of the Croatian post and telecom company HPT. They have 65,000 and 96,000 subscribers, respectively. It is forecast that within three years, there will be about 500,000 mobile phone subscribers in Croatia, which would mean a market penetration rate of 10%. As the leader of an international engineering consortium, the Frankfurt-based engineering office Lahmeyer International GmbH will supervise the construction, assembly and commissioning of the planned facilities for the water supply of Burkina Faso's capital Ouagadougou. Construction has started at the beginning of 1998. For DM 260mn, a storage basin with a 2.7 km long dam and several pumping stations are to be built by 2003. Lahmeyer will also be in charge of the co-ordination between financing institutes and construction companies. Furthermore, Lahmeyer will train personnel.

German Bad Vilbel-based Lahmeyer International Ingenieurgesellschaft is to lead an international consortium in the management of a large infrastructure project in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. By 2003, water supply systems of the capital of the west African country are to be modernised with investments of DM 260mn. The project is co-financed by the World Bank, the Kuwait Fund and the German Development Bank (KfW).
