Approximately two dozen monarchs rein in the world, in countries ranging from Japan, to the United Kingdom, to Saudi Arabia, but there are also many claimants to royal thrones throughout the world. Some of the aspiring and exiled monarchs have stubborn followers and enjoy a certain amount of power.
