Article Abstract:

United Kingdom private equity fund managers are making good investment returns through corporate development investments. However, European money managers are reluctant to invest in private equity fund management even though the sector has been highly successful during 1996 and 1997. Numerous successful deals have been completed since Aug, 1996, such as the management buyout of Inchcape Testing Services and the purchase of Brands Hatch Leisure.

Current corporate investment opportunities in Kazakhstan

Article Abstract:

Kazakhstan has recently opened the way to foreign investors in an attempt to develop an industrial structure and create economic independence. The Kazakh State Property Committee has been offering shares in various petrochemical, manufacturing, energy and mining businesse to overseas investors. The mines alone are valued at $7 billion and the Donskoy Kombinat chromium mine is the most interesting enterprise.

3i extends Sherman investment

The investment by venture capitalists 3i in Sherman Cooper is discussed. Company sales have grown from 20 million to 80 million pounds sterling since 1993 and further sales increases based on expansion are forecast.
