Reform the harbor maintenance tax

Article Abstract:

Reform measures should be undertaken to reduce harbor taxes to their pre-1991 rates. The Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1990 increased tax fees to 0.125% from the original 0.04% as stipulated in the 1986 Water Resources Development Act. Aside from the lack of enforcement procedures, the increase has resulted in a decline in profits for intermodal transportation. Realizing the need to improve profits and keep up with international competition, the shipping industry and various port authorities have backed HR 5896 which shall roll back the Harbor Maintenance Tax to its original level.

Major Matter of Maintenance

Article Abstract:

A complex fault in one component of a microcomputer system could trigger off a fault in another, causing a complicated repair problem if the components were purchased from different companies. There are now more than sixty independent maintenance companies in the United Kingdom, and it may be worth taking out a service contract with one of them.
