Research is presented concerning the differing policies which can be adopted towards risk-taking by business enterprises operating in a natural oligopoly or natural monopoly. The differentiation of companies is discussed.

Research is presented concerning the influence which multi-stage oligopolistic production has on the evolution of market structure. The occurrence of simultaneous merger decisions among dominant companies is discussed.
