Sad Cyprus: but it is too good to give up hope

The Greek and Turkish parts of Cyprus are separated by mutual hate and distrust, but a compromise settlement may just be possible. The UN has come to accept a loose federation with many separate powers, and membership in the European Union as a united island would benefit both sides.
