Sinopec to get $1.17 billion subsidy

China Petroleum & Chemical Corp. is to receive a one-time subsidy of $1.17 billion United States Dollars from the Chinese government as compensation for government controls that keep domestic oil prices below international levels. The petroleum giant is the largest oil refiner in Asia.

DaimlerChrysler, Fiat sign truck-engine accord

Article Abstract:

Fiat S.p.A. and DaimlerChrysler AG have struck an agreement that will supply DaimlerChrysler's truck division with powertrain and engine technology from Fiat. Fiat will provide DaimlerChrysler with approximately 80,000 engines annually beginning in 2009.

DaimlerChrysler expands ties with China's Beijing Automotive
