When dominant Spanish telecommunications player Telefonica aired TV ads warning consumers of the dangers in switching to smaller phone companies, Alo Comunicaciones fought back. Its advertising company hired the same actors from the Telefonia ads to parody the larger company's ad campaign.

Telefonica net surges 73% amid gains

Spanish telecommunications company Telefonica SA posted better-then-expected first-half net profit of Euro1.02 billion, an increase of 73% from a year earlier. Profit increased 32% to E776 million, discounting E243.6 million.
