Still drinks

Article Abstract:

Some 1,113 million pounds sterling was spent on still drinks, in the UK, during 1997, an increase of 2% since 1996. Compared to the market for carbonated drinks which was worth 3,362 million pounds sterling. Sales of dilutable drinks take the major share of sales in the still drink market, at 69.3% in 1997. It is anticipated the value of sales of still drinks, in 1999, will increase by only 0.1% but by 2000 will rise by 3%. Some 80% of still drinks were sold by food stores in 1997. Robinson's, made by Britvic Soft Drinks, have a 33.8% share of the volume sales of dilutables.

Still soft drinks

Article Abstract:

The soft drinks market in the UK is predicted to continue rising in both volume and value to 2000, reaching 3.5 billion pounds sterling in value, with premium soft drinks making a significant contribution. The still drinks market is predominantly concentrated drinks, and new products such as iced tea, herbal and fruit drinks have not yet made much impact on volume figures and brand shares. The Robinson's brand has 33% of the still market, and own label has 39% of the market.

Ready to drink soft drinks

Article Abstract:

Sales of ready to drink soft drinks rose by 45.5% in the UK in the period 1993 to 1997, reaching 333 million pounds sterling. In volume terms, the market rose by 27% in the same period to 160 million lt. Sales are forecast to reach 199 million lt by 2002, at a value of 417 million pounds sterling. There will be particularly strong demand for sports drinks as more people become involved in outdoor and health and fitness activities.
