The christening of a cyclop of Olomouc
Article Abstract:
Zapa beton (Czech Republic), concrete producer, will supply nearly 100 cu mt of concrete mixture per hour from its new concrete plant in Olomouc-Holice, the Czech Republic. The concrete plant, which was commissioned in September 1998, will be able to supply concrete during frosty periods. The plant's modern conception ensures a minimum impact on the environment. The facility, which is similar to a giant with one eye, was named the cyclop of Olomouc by its author. Zapa Beton is the largest concrete producer in the Czech Republic.

Ceska Rafinerska invests in refineries
Article Abstract:
Ceska rafinerska (CER) (Litvinov, Czech Republic), oil processor, will invest about 17 bil Kc within a modernisation programme between 1997-2002. A part of the programme are investments worth 2.5 bil Kc in both CER's refineries, which were approved at an extra general assembly in the autumn of 1999. Besides, the general assembly approved setting up subsidiaries in Slovakia and Poland.
