The year China started to decline

Article Abstract:

A political analysis of Chinese President Hu Jintao's recent visit to the United States for a United Nations General Assembly is presented. While China may have gained both military and economic powers following Chinese President Jiang Zemin's visit to U.S. in 2002, Chinese have not conformed to the westernized concept of democracy and human approach towards political situation. This could mean a road downward for the country henceforth.

Beijing's new legitimacy crisis

Article Abstract:

Western world expected Chinese Communist Party to crumble in a manner similar to that of its Eastern European counterparts. The suppression of revolution in 1989 generated loads of criticism for the party. However, CCP managed to regain some of its respect with the recent economic reforms and development. This respect has become its weakness because any news of uprising or disorder now can disrupt the economy as well.
