Article Abstract:
The German central bank must lower its discount rate to keep French and Danish currency prices from dropping so low that the nations leave the exchange rate mechanism (ERM), as Britain and Spain have done. The ERM's impact on the currency market is analysed.

Article Abstract:
The prices of goods is one way to measure whether international exchange rates are correct and to forecast currency movements. Comparing the prices of Big Mac hamburger sandwiches in different countries shows whether there is parity between currencies.
