VW puts brakes on a rebound

DaimlerChrysler's profit slides

DaimlerChrysler AG posted higher than anticipated profits for the 2003 first quarter. The car maker posted 1.4 billion euros in quarterly profits, compared to forecasts of 1.2 billion euros.

Porsche expects low profit growth
