Vodaphone has made a bid for AirTouch in a move that follows a bid from Bell Atlantic, and other companies could also make bids for AirTouch. AirTouch faces problems in its home market, which Vodaphone cannot solve immediately, but Vodaphone offers potential in the European market, which is growing rapidly. Vodaphone is active in a number of European locations such as Greece, Sweden and France, while AirTouch is also involved in Europe, with locations including Poland, Portugal and Spain.
