Allegheny inquiries aren't over
Article Abstract:
Pennsylvania Attorney General Mike Fisher has announced that his office will continue the investigation of the doctors, students, researchers and other individuals involved in the misuse of the restricted funds and grants that are controlled by the nonprofit Allegheny Health, Education and Research Foundation (AHERF) of Pittsburgh, PA. Fisher reported that a preliminary review of the documents submitted by Allegheny revealed that at least $10 million of restricted funds at hospitals and universities is involved. He said that the probe will continue despite the Oct. 21, 1998 sale of Alleghany's eight Southeastern Pennsylvania hospitals to Tenet Healthcare of Santa Barbara, CA.
