AstraZeneca picks site in Wilmington suburbs
Article Abstract:
AstraZeneca has chosen Delaware to become its new US headquarters in the suburbs of Wilmington. The state offered the newly merged pharmaceutical and agrochemical company $53 million in tax incentives, relocation expenses and property. The company selected a site that is across the site from its existing 88-acre property. AstraZeneca is the former Zeneca Group PLC (England) and Astra AB (Sweden). Both companies had facilities in the region, with 2.400 Zeneca employees near Wilmington and 1,600 Astra employees at that firm's US headquarters in Wayne. The Astra workers will remain in Wayne until temporary facilities closer to Wilmington can be rented.

BEC Energy to sell Pilgrim plant to Entergy
Article Abstract:
BEC Energy has reached an agreement to sell its Pilgrim nuclear power plant to Entergy Corp. of Louisiana for $80 million to $90 million. The transaction for the Plymouth-based plant involves cash and financing. The deal will make Entergy into one of the biggest new companies trying to expand into the generation service market in New England states that have liberalized their power markets. The deal will also enable BEC's Boston Edison Co. to either expand its electricity distribution and marketing operations or to sell them altogether.
