Bermuda authorizes 15 more cruises from Philadelphia

Newtown, Pa-based Apple Vacations and Crown Cruise Lines have signed an agreement with the Bermuda government to allow for 16 additional cruises from Philadelphia to Bermuda. Apple Vacations and Crown created a special package trip that combined cruise passages and hotel stays on the island, to win the contract over larger cruise lines like Carnival and Royal Caribbean. In addition to the package, Apple and Crown also agreed that a minimum number of cabins would be sold to those who purchase the package. Philadelphia tourism officials are hoping that the additional cruises will help increase overnight stays in the city.
