Developer envisions business site in Beaver
Article Abstract:
Burnham Partners LLC, a development firm based in Chicago, IL, plans to construct a $700-million, 2,000-acre business park, tentatively called Governor's Business Park, in Beaver County in Pennsylvania. The project, which would take 20 years to construct, would mean 15,000 new jobs in the area. The center could accomodate 15 million to 20 million sq ft of research, development, distribution and light manufacturing space, aside from several hotels and retail shops. The company, which wants the state Turnpike Commission to think of building a $20-million interchange to complement the project, targets to begin construction in 1999.

Downtown retail plan deal near

Urban Retail Properties Co. of Chicago, IL, has been in negotiations with the Urban Redevelopment Authority regarding its proposal to set up new shops, restaurants and movie theaters on Fifth and Forbes avenues in Downtown Pittsburgh, PA. Mulugetta Birru, executive director of the Urban Redevelopment Authority, is optimistic a development agreement is likely to be signed between the two parties at a sooner date. Under the proposal, Urban Retail and the city will share some of the cost of the project, including cost of buying land.

Airport Office Park goes on sale in red-hot market
Article Abstract:
Developers Roy Johns Jr. and Earle Kazis are selling the six-building, 460,000-sq-ft Airport Office Park in Moon, PA, for a minimum of $46 million. Ned Doran, a senior vice president with Grubb & Ellis Co. Doran, along with Grubb & Ellis Vice President Michelle Keane Domeisen, is handling the marketing of the complex to potential buyers. The Airport Office Park sits along Route 60, across the highway from the old Greater Pittsburgh International Airport and on the other side of Thorn Run Road from Cherrington Corporate Center.
