Pilgrim Baxter president Paul J. Hondros' vision of a new mutual fund group in Philadelphia area survives an across-the-board layoff. He plans to form a new mutual fund group by recruiting former Pilgrim Baxter board members. Hondros want to add Robert Wagner, who ran Pilgrim Baxtor's institutional unit, to the new group. Also on the list are three officials who were recently recruited by Pilgrim Baxtor from SEI.

Teachers commit to Radnor fund

Radnor, Penn.-based Co-Investment 2000 Fund will receive a $135 million investment from the Pennsylvania teachers' pension system. Financial service firm gets funding
