Fast food about to get faster at MacDonald's
Article Abstract:
McDonald's Inc. has announced that its 280 Philadelphia area fast-food restaurants will be at the forefront of a new high-tech asembly line system that eventually will be installed at all of the chain's nationwide outlets. The new system, which can deliver a customer's order in 35 seconds, will be accompanied by menu changes, including new salads and regional-style items. The company hopes that the new system will cut down on wasted food which had been cooked in batches.
