Lawyers get a new chancellor

Andre A. Chirls is elected the chancellor of the Philadelphia Bar Association. He is a partner in the business-litigation practice at the Center City firm of Wolf, Block, Schorr and Sols-Cohen L.L.P. and one of his key assignments involve serving as counsel to the $3.5 billion trust fund for diet-drug combination victim known as fen-pen, that caused heart damage and was withdrawn in 1997 by Wyeth, of Madison, New Jersey.

Phila. fund buys 2d half of Gallery mall

Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust (PREIT), a Philadelphia real estate investment fund is set to buy another Gallery at Market East mall in Center City called as Gallery II. PREIT would pay $32 million in cash for the purchase from a credit line with Wells Fargo Bank.
