Even as it uses the super bowl ad to showcase its credit cards and partners such as NFL, MBNA is preparing the way to expand its sale of other services in the bank's own name.

Shareholders allege First Union coverup
Article Abstract:
A class-action suit has been filed by stockholders against First Union Corp. The suit alleges that the bank's officials made false and misleading statements in order to inflate stock prices. In January First Union admitted that its acquisition of CoreStates Financial Corp. was not going as smoothly as had been asserted and that profits were decreasing.
