Article Abstract:
Once or twice a month in Lancaster Country, District Justice Ronald Savage holds a day of preliminary hearing for accused Wal-Mart shoplifters and others who are arrested and face prosecution. Like the others charged with crime, alleged shoplifters in Pennsylvania appear before a district justice, who sets bail and determines whether there is sufficient evidence for the case to be held over for trial.

New federal rules introduced require mutual funds to disclose how they vote in shareholder matters in support of or against company management. Therefore, it is necessary that mutual funds be more sensitive to individual shareholders' concerns about management styles, executive pay, and other governance issues.
