Article Abstract:
Del Monte Fresh Produce Co is the most lucrative customer of the 30 tenants at South Jersey Port Corp's Camden docks. The Florida fruit and vegetable producer and marketer pays $1.25 million a year for its lease of a 25-acre site at Camden. Del Monte completed construction of an additional 75,600 feet of warehouse space at Camden in Jan 1999, bringing its total warehouse space to 135,600 square feet. Del Monte has 8 of its own employees at the South Jersey facility, and provides the equivalent of 100 full-time jobs each year.
