Article Abstract:
The London office of Kvaerner ASA and some Pennsylvania officials, including Governor Ridge, disagree with what the auditor general, Robert P. Casey, calls "corporate welfare." The Kvaerner Philadelphia Shipyard executives claim their use of public funds, part of the $429 million from taxpayers, for patio furniture, grand pianos, artwork and other perks, are being wrongly exposed by the state auditor general.
