Parking, not preaching
Article Abstract:
St. James Episcopal Church plans to buy a parking lot located at the corner of Florida and Third streets so it can provide space for parishioners and the public. The church opposed alcohol sales near its property but is not expected to interfere with plans to develop a downtown entertainment district. The law states that alcohol sales is prohibited within 300 feet from the church doors, but does not ban alcohol sales near the the church.
