Commerce Bancorp Inc.'s political funds and executives gave $2.1 million to politicians in the suburbs, Harrisburg and Trenton as it is mixing politics and business in the suburbs and state capitals of Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The company reported that in future, it would only handle government bonds in cases in which it had competed and would no longer do deals in which the politicians simply picked Commerce.

Philadelphia's Mayor Street has announced new financial estimates of over one billion for the proposed Philadelphia Eagles football and Philadelphia Phillies baseball stadiums in the downtown district. The Phillies stadium would cost $331 million while the Eagles stadium would cost $365 million.
