Small technology companies in Philadelphia area that are backed by private equity funds have received more money in 2003 than in 2002 as through the third quarter of 2003, $318 million was invested compared with $284 million in 2002. Nearly $78 million was invested in the third quarter, more than double the amount in the same quarter in 2002.
