Arizona's $200 million long-term health care industry is expected to reach the $2 billion spending mark by the year 2000. The elderly population in Arizona is expected to double from the current 365,000 to over 725,000 between 1985 and the year 2000. There will also be a significant market for housing and personal services.

Connecticut company to buy Mary Moppet's

Mary Moppet's Day Care Schools is merging with Children's Discovery Centers of America to form the the 5th largest day care firm. This will also allow Mary Moppet to continue its expansion. Earnings for the first quarter for the chain were $98,000 compared to $58,000 for the same period last year.

Doubletree unveils moderate-price hotels

Compri Hotels by Doubletree are built for the business traveler. They are moderately-priced, but have many of the amenities of more expensive hotels, such as complimentary breakfast and drinks, and on-site pool, and spa facilities. The chain has 11 hotels and plans to expand all over the U.S.
