Local phone companies in Pennsylvania are lobbying for a replacement law, which would free them of some of the regulations preventing them from offering prices and packages of services that allow them to compete on a level playing field with other companies. The proposed law, which would replace the 10-year law governing local phone service, is drawing mixed reactions from the competitors and the state's consumers.
