US Airways workers await next decisions
Article Abstract:
The Southwest Airline is planning to start service in Philadelphia where US Airways has almost 5,700 employees and it also provides the airport with almost half of its revenue may which may lead to a decision of cutting own the cost. In the years 2002 and 2003, the work force at US Airways is reduced by a third and the remaining employees were required to give up more than $1 billion in wages and benefits.

Extra staff aids US Airways
Article Abstract:
US Airways has added several new managers to the regular staff at the Philadelphia International Airport in an effort to rebound from a slow Christmas travel period in 2004. The additional staffing seemed to have a positive effect at the airport, as passengers were able to check in, board and claim baggage with apparent ease.

US Airways' plan to improve its baggage service at the Philadelphia International Airport is running five weeks behind a scheduled May 1, 2004 completion. US Airways planned to finish installing the new $2.7 million baggage conveyor belt system to coincide with the start of the peak vacation-travel season.
