Zany? Not quite, as chain makes debut on Wall St

King of Prussia, Penn.-based Zany Brainy, a retailer of children's software, toys and books, has received good response from its initial public offering (IPO). Zany Brainy, which has 1,700 employees and 82 stores in 23 states, plans to use the new capital to open more stores throughout the country, move into e-commerce on the Internet, and pay off its debt. Industry analysts have described the national toy market as volatile.

Zany Brainy files for bankruptcy under Chapter 11
