Mixed feelings
Article Abstract:
'Mixing Messages: Graphic Design in Contemporary Culture' opened on Sep. 17, 1996, at the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum in New York, NY. Some critics consider the exhibit to be excessively inclusive in the sense that curator Ellen Lupton included all types of visual communication. On the other hand, some would also view the exhibit as too exclusive in its focus on familiar design narratives.
