Ayala Corp. (Makati City, Philippines) is a diversified conglomerate involved in banking, insurance, real estate, food manufacturing, electronics and telecommunications. Ayala had a successful year in 1996 due to the sterling performance of its banking, insurance, real estate and electronics sectors. In the first nine months of 1996, Ayala had a profit of 3.27 billion Philippine pesos, an increase of 34.6% from the same period of 1995, on revenues of 9.6 billion Philippine pesos, an increase of 26.3%.
