Article Abstract:

Associated British Foods reported a rise in operating profit of 18% for the half year to Mar 1996, and the contribution from manufacturing rose to 147 million pounds from 131 million pounds. Retailing profits rose to 34 million pounds sterling from 22 million pounds, with Primark accounting for half the rise in profit. ABF is performing well. Associated British Foods' full year profit is forecast at between 410 million pounds and 420 million pounds compared with 375 million pounds.
