Beating the odds

Article Abstract:

Auditors have discovered a new way to calculate probabilities to better plan cash flow forecasts, damage quantification and business valuations. Probability-based scenario planning calls for an analysis of the applicability of simple probabilities to certain scenarios and important business assumptions to realize the odds on anticipated performance and value ranges. Using a valuation or discounted cash flow model where several operating assumptions were factored in, scenario-planning can project combined company performance over a range of trends and economic cycles.
