Compromise and survive
Article Abstract:
Theresa Kelly was able to balance her personal andprofessional life through compromises. Initially, the birth of her first daughter posed some strains on her job as finance director and corporate secretary of public relations consultancy Fleischman Hillard UK Ltd. Her motherhood restricted her from working full-time. After a series of negotiations, the company allowed her to keep her job and work for only four days per week, one of which could be spent at her home. Moreover, she was permitted to retain her shares in the directors' equity scheme. In return, her title as finance director was changed to chief financial officer although her responsibilities remain unchanged. Because she is required to do the same amount of work for a shorter period of time, she makes it a point to prioritize. Whenever needed, she also works during weekends and in evenings to compensate.

Psychosocial development and life experiences in adulthood: a 22-year sequential study
Article Abstract:
A survey of adults at aged 20-years old, with two further surveys at 11 year intervals has found evidence to support the notion that adults' personalities can develop. Personality appears to be both affected by experience and in turn influences the experiences of individuals. Cultural changes over time can also influence the link between life experience and personality. These changes include changing attitudes to the family which can affect different cohorts.
