Article Abstract:

Accountancy firms are hoping that the collapse of Equitable's case will make them less of a target for litigants. Equitable's decision to give up its pursuit of its former auditor through the courts was a relief not only for Ernst &Young, but for other large accountancy firms as well.

Article Abstract:

The ICAEW and public sector accountants' institute CIPFA are proposing to integrate into a single body called, the Institute of Chartered Accountants. Both institutes need a two-thirds majority of votes if integration is to go ahead.
