Truth in mutual fund advertising: evidence on future performance and fund flows
Article Abstract:
Research presented concerns the fund flows and performance of mutual funds advertised in financial publications. Findings suggest that advertised mutual funds show no superior performance, although they do attract more money than a group of control funds.

An analysis of asset sales linked to mergers and acquisitions reveals that asset sales improve firms' allocations of resources. Research results are congruent with neoclassical models of profit maximization.
