BAE half way there in United Defense deal

The U.K.-based BAE Systems and United Defense Inc. have cleared one hurdle and are waiting to clear the second in a quest for U.S. regulatory approval of BAE's planned acquisition of United Defense. BAE Systems intends to acquire the American United Defense Inc., valued at $4.2 billion to penetrate into the U.S. defense market.

BAE Systems buys United Defense

BAE Systems stated that it would buy American defense contractor United Defense Inc., forwarding the U.K.-based firm to get closer to its goal of being a top provider to the Pentagon. It is planning to acquire all of the outstanding shares of United Defense for $75 per share in cash.
