How to create a nimble organization

Article Abstract:

Management groups can create a nimble organization by hiring and maintaining a team capable of producing feasible solutions to the organization's determined goals. It is also important to exercise flexibility in structuring enterprises according to market conditions and to handle disruptive change without losing track of quality and productivity standards. Nimbleness is important for organizations because of the rising urgency of improved customer satisfaction fueled by more intense market competition.

The dynamics of introducing performance metrics into an organization

Article Abstract:

A case study was conducted to evaluate the use of performance measurement to enhance customer service and relations by a state government agency. Particular focus was made on a large state procurement office that was having problems with shipment dates, damaged materials and equipment and the lack of responsiveness to customer concerns. The implementation of performance measurement transformed it into a more efficient, more responsive customer-oriented and less hierarchical organization.
