Maturity brings its own problems

Article Abstract:

The UK management buy-out (MBO) market hasmatured, though competition is still intense, and there is still a large supply of finance and human capital. There were 542 MBO transactions in 1995, a 1.1% drop compared with 1994. The mean average for the five years to 1995 has been 540 transactions annualy, with variations of under 10% of this figure. Lower returns are accepted by some investors if the risks are also lower. The amount of capital available could be reduced if returns are low over the long term.
