Moving the Navy into the Information Age

Article Abstract:

The US Navy has managed a remarkably successful transformation into a highly effective and self-adapting organization despite minimal or absent defense funding support and with a 50% reduction in its fleet. This change is reflected in information technology innovations across the Navy's organizations, such as the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command. The Navy must continue to work at improving applications for information technology by also investing to harness the organization's intellectual capital.
