SEC's Levitt wants all in on conference calls
Article Abstract:
Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Chairman Arthur Levitt urged companies to open all quarterly conference calls open to all investors. Levitt, who addressed the New York Economic Club in Oct 1999, said such move would provide investors equal access to potentially market-moving information. He also raised a strong concern about initial public offering road shows, where top-ranked officials meet with institutional investors in closed-door sessions.
