Panasonic to open its plant in the spring of 2002

Article Abstract:

Matsushita (Japan), electronic equipment manufacturer, will commission its new plant in Pardubice, the Czech Republic, in Apr 2002. The plant with 550 employees will be a part of Matsushita Communication Industrial Czech (Czech Republic). The investment costs on the plant's construction should be CEK 3.27 bil. In Aug 2001 the firm will start automotive audio-set production on rented premises. It should start mobile telephone production in Mar or Apr 2002 and should produce 16 mil pieces by the end of 2002. The plant in Pardubice will be Matsushita's sixth foreign automotive audio-set production branch. The firm manufactures mobile telephones in Japan, the UK, the Philippines and China.

Asko wants to invest in Svitavy

Article Abstract:

Asko (Belgium), multinational electrical technology company, plans to build a new industrial lights plant in Svitavy, Czech Republic. The plant should be located in a new industrial zone and should have 200 employees within two years. It is expected to create a total of 500 other jobs within the next five years. The level of the investment in the project has not been published yet.
