Reducing insurance costs

Article Abstract:

Charities may find that insurance is a major overhead, and costs are affected by the type of work that charities carry out. Some charities are involved with ex-offenders, while others operate in war zones. The Charities Insurance Association aims to reduce premiums and boost cover for UK charities. Cover is negotiated by Willis Corroon for the association. Types of cover include motor insurance, and charity trust indemnity covering employees, volunteers, officials, and others involved in a charity.

Cause related marketing set to take off

Article Abstract:

Cause related marketing (CRM) is a form of corporate sponsorship for charities which is becoming increasingly important in the UK. Companies involved in such schemes include Pret a Manger which has paid for vans to deliver food in a food donor scheme in London, England. CRM relationships should be long term since charities and companies take some time to build up a relationship and consumers are confused if the relationships change too rapidly.

A hand in the corporate pocket

Article Abstract:

Cash corporate donations to UK charities have decreased, though major companies are rising for the biggest 400 corporate donors. Aid is also provided in the form of goods and services and this kind of gift is not easily measured. Cause-related marketing offers benefits to donors as well as for charities. Consumers tend to be attracted to products linked to a charity if they are of the same quality and price as the alternatives.
