Cookers
Article Abstract:
The cookware industry continues to manifest strong market performance, as total retail sales significantly increased from 512 million pounds sterling in 1993 to 618 million pound sterling in 1998. Growth was particularly pronounced in the freestanding cooker sector, which accounted for 68% of the market by value and 57% by volume. Technological improvements in electric freestanding cookers sector have also provided leverage for the sector, representing 25% share of sales in terms of volume and 29$ in value. Despite these gains, experts believe that sales of cookers in 1999 would relatively be sluggish.
