The economic impact of StarLink corn
Article Abstract:
A partial equilibrium model, which encompasses both segregation costs and the Loan Deficiency Payment Program (LDP), is developed to obtain the empirical estimates of the impact of StarLink on the U.S. corn producers over the marketing year 2000-2001. The results show that StarLink caused the U.S. corn producers to lose between $26 and $288 million in revenue.
