The impact of organizational ergonomics on work effectiveness: With special reference to concurrent engineering in manufacturing industries

Article Abstract:

Engineering and human factors literature generally address micro issues with regard to technology design, but often lack performance data to back developed propositions. A model is proposed that gives a rare view of multiple levels of an organization. Propositions from researchers have been synthesized to enable expansions of socio-technical systems (STS) theory for production in advanced technology environments and throughout functional work boundaries. The model establishes an understanding for relationships with effective concurrent engineering.

Effects of an ontology display with history representation on organizational memory information systems

Article Abstract:

The role of ontology in the organizational learning cycle is established by proposing a conceptual model and by introducing history representation on ontology display. It is hypothesized that history representation in an ontology display helps organizational learning by facilitating individual learning and that compatibility between the methods of ontology display and those of history representation is important to improve individual learning performance.
