The knowledge worker, the manager-academic and the contemporary UK university: new and old forms of public management?
Article Abstract:
A study examining the changing expectations related to role of academics in management of UK's universities is presented. The study also examines the changes in practices and technologies used by these academics at the end of end of twentieth century and beginning of twenty-first century. These changes are the result of changing educational policy in the country since 1960s.
